Your account settings are private to you, so we need to know it's you first.

Your own AI key

RecipeMemoir's AI features (recipe commentary, rewriting, importing from a video) run on a shared key. Add your own OpenRouter key and they'll run on yours instead, so you're never waiting on a shared budget.

Save and test

We check the key works before saving it, so you'll know straight away if something's off. It's stored encrypted, and we never show it back to you again, only the last four characters. Remove it any time and AI features go back to the shared key.

Getting an OpenRouter key

1. Make a free account at openrouter.ai.
2. Add a little credit. A few dollars goes a long way at the models we use.
3. Under Keys, create a key and copy it. It starts with sk-or-.
4. Paste it above and press Save and test.

We pick which AI models get used, so your key is only ever spent on RecipeMemoir's own features, at the cheap models we've tested.
